Volunteer/Mentor Program
The mission of the Camp “Positive” Motivation Volunteer/Mentor Program mirrors that of Camp “Positive” Motivation: To provide a balanced approach that increases public safety, provides agency and offender accountability, reduce crime, recidivism and affords opportunity for youth to develop in responsible citizens. This program recruits, trains and monitors volunteers/mentors who provide professional assistance and support to Camp “Positive” Motivation staff members. The volunteers/mentors supplement staff in the management of youth referred to the program.
We are seeking interested individuals who are at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and who have some extra time to donate to improving the life of a young person. Interns already involved in an approved credit-earning internship with a university or community college, persons seeking to explore career opportunities, or retirees with spare time are encouraged to apply. Here are just a few examples of opportunities this program will provide:
Contact with youth and families involved in the program
Interaction with local judiciary, juvenile court proceedings
Research and information gathering
Assistance with screening process
A chance to improve program objectives
